Hello! We Are The Weird Sisters!
Welcome to our little corner of the teaching community! Together, we are the Weird Sisters and we have over 40 years of experience in the classroom. We have a shared passion for growing students in our urban high school by challenging them and opening their eyes with a variety of texts. Our philosophy is that students can rise to high expectations when met with relatable texts, close reading strategies and consistent writing practice... and dare we say, that English class can even be FUN!
Our name is a play on the three witches in Macbeth and encapsulates our love for literature (new and old) and let’s face it, our strangeness😜. Our friendship started with the love we share for our hometown— as we all came back to teach at our high school alma mater.
Teaching right now is not for the faint of heart and we feel lucky to have each other and our tribe. We are excited to build our teaching community and to learn from each of you. We also hope to bring some ideas and resources to your classroom to lighten your load so you can find balance between school and life and focus on the most important part of teaching - caring for your students.

Hi there! I hold a BS from Miami University and a MA degree in Curriculum Design from Walden University. This is my 12th year in the classroom at my high school alma mater. I teach every level of English with a speciality in the inclusion setting. Teaching is my jam. I love working and learning with teenagers; they're the best!

My husband, Tyler, and I have been together for 16 years, and he remains the steady to my spontaneity! We have one son who we could write our own adventure story about ;).

In the summer months, you can find me in my garden tending to my flower beds or traveling to explore a new greenhouse.

Hi! We understand that teaching is hard, but I don't know if there is another career that is any more rewarding. With 12 years of teaching under my belt and a MA degree through the Ohio Writing Project, I have come to realize that that my work is never finished, but that doesn't mean I don't need to take a moment to pause, reflect and rejuvenate.
In an effort to make our classrooms as inclusive and impactful as possible for our students while also being able to go home and enjoy our babies, we have created some pretty amazing lessons and have a few tricks up our sleeves.

As passionate as I am about teaching, I am even more passionate about my two babies and creating a beautiful life with my stud muffin. I hope to help you find solutions to create an impact for your students while not burning out!

Hey friends! I earned my BS and MA degrees from Miami University, and returned to teach at our home high school. This is my 19th year in the classroom, and I've enjoyed teaching just about every level and grade of high school English. I love the honest and eye-opening conversations that can occur within a classroom as students read about other perspectives and share their own.
My husband and I have been married for 11 years and have two wonderful sons who I'm trying my best to turn into book lovers. (I think it's working!)

I look forward to cooking with a glass of wine in the evening, and enjoy creating art and traveling when I have the opportunity!
